Mera Peak offers a distinctly different experience from the busier Everest Base Camp trail. After flying to Lukla, the journey heads towards the quieter landscapes of the Hinku Valley.
The approach passes through forest, high mountain terrain and isolated settlements before reaching Thangnak and eventually Khare, where the main preparation for the climbing section takes place.
Acclimatization and practical training are included before the team moves higher towards High Camp. From there, the objective is an attempt on the 6,476-metre summit of Mera Peak.
Because of this considerable altitude, Mera Peak requires good physical preparation, careful acclimatization, appropriate equipment and a conservative approach to summit day.
Meet the Himalaya Kingdom team at the airport and transfer to your hotel.
Descend through Himalayan forest and rhododendron country towards the Hinku Valley. Continue through the valley to Kothe.
Follow the Hinku River upstream. With increasing altitude, the landscape gradually changes from forest to more open alpine terrain.
Climb out of the valley and continue through forested terrain towards Thuli Kharka.
Keep this day available for operational flexibility. If no delay occurs, enjoy a free day in Kathmandu.
Transfer to Tribhuvan International Airport for your onward flight.
