The rural regions feature many popular trails, which take you away from the chaos of the modern world and closer to Mother Nature.
One name that is squarely on this list is the Lower Dolpo Trek, which passes through the fabulous Shey Phoksundo National Park. Phoksundo is one of the deepest Himalayan lakes in the world. Next comes Rara Lake trekking, which resembles heaven on earth. The serene lake is tranquility itself and features rich biodiversity.
Another off-the-beaten-track area is the Kanchenjunga region. Trekking here is demanding due to the region’s remoteness, but this trek will give you an authentic taste of the undisturbed Himalayan wilderness. Other trekking options are Nar-Phu, Makalu-Barun, and Tsum Valley.
All the mentioned treks are challenging. Some routes may not even have a clear path. Thus, you need to gear up to tackle any difficulties. We will provide you with a full pack list to ensure you’re kitted out appropriately. Due to the remote area, these treks can be more expensive as the cost of the trekking permits is higher than for others. Likewise, you have to follow strict regulations for trekking in these restricted (isolated) regions. For example, you can’t trek alone without any professional guides/porters.
